Here are photos of some unusual Mauser HSCs....The 1st 1350 produced were made with the grips screws at the bottom of the grips....known as the "Low Gripscrew " variation.....The Kriegsmarine marked HSC was taken from The German Submarine U190 when it surrendered in Halifax....May 14th 1945.....This Pistol could well have belonged to Werner Hirschmann who was Chief Engineer on the Sub..He settled in Canada after the war....and wrote a book about his experiences!!

If he settled in Canada, it would be neat to find out if he has any surviving relatives, who may be interested in the gun.
 
Can you imagine if you met up with him and let him hold the pistol again for the first time since WW2 ? The stories he could tell you, one of few uboat men to survive the battle for the atlantic.
