HI THAR.
while perusing krinker photos to drool over before I get mine, I saw this one from a thread by skirsons,
his beautiful 10/22 here
78567251.jpg

is shown, with wood furnature,
and later in the thread he says it "has a krinker kit on it, which allows one to attach ak furnature" (paraphrased)

is this true? is the krinker kit base able to accept all AK furnature??!

that's friggin amazing if so.

once I have mine I'll keep eyes open for some wood hand grip and forewood...

illllll

can someone clarify if this is true?
THANKS!

If I remember correctly, SKS upper handguards are used for the upper wood and have to be trimmed, AK furniture for the rest. Not sure how attaching the butt works though, but I have seen krinkers with all AK/SKS wood.

Yes, I never attached the buttstock. I'm not sure how that would work either although I've seen it. The lower handguard and pistol grip require no fitting to attach, but the upper handguard is a hollowed out SKS handguard.

here's mine. the upper handguard can be fit with a few modifications. same thing for the stock. i had to make a part that bolts to the stock, then bolts to the gun.

i just copied the part from the folding stock that bolts to the receiver. its made out of 12 gage steel plate and welded together. On the left side there is a gap for the folder hinge that i filled with jb weld and then sanded. the pictures can explain it better than i can.

Here's the steps in a little more detail.

This is the handguard cap that comes in the krinker kit. I had to extend it with the piece that was on the ak guard. I used JB weld

Same thing here. This is the original upper handguard with the piece from the back of the ak handguard attatched. JB weld here as well.

The front of the upper wood has to be trimmed like so.

Thats pretty much it for the front of the gun. The lower guard fits right in no problem. (might have to sand it a little)

This is the stock adaptor I made. I just copied the one attatched to the folder minus the hinge. Threads are 8-32. It is attatched to the stock with a 1/4" lag bolt and a screw on top.

There is a cutout in the receiver for the hinge so with this new piece there will be a gap. I filled and then shaped it with JB weld

The upper handguard assembly fits pretty tight so I have to put it back together in this order.

The pistol grip had to be dremeled out so the trigger guard can sit back where its supposed to be. Just copy the krinker grip.

Thats it.

Buddy thank you so much for your help. it was an amazing amount of help... and i have a couple people that messaged me with ak wooden furniture, so this build looks very possible.

Cheers everyone.

Rob
