Before I ask, i would just like to say... i've already used the search function on this site and i've got some conflicting results.

Is the krinker plinker kit with the 16'' barrel restricted or non-restricted? I swear i've seen responses saying its non-restricted and others saying it didn't meet the 26'' OAL rule, therefore restricted. I'm confused on the matter and i would like some clarification since i'm thinking of purchasing one.

If it's under 26 OAL when it folds and can still fire, then it's restricted. :yingyang:

If it is over 26 OAL (either when it folds, or b/c it cannot fold [i.e. fixed-stock]), it's non-restricted). :)

I dont know the OAL of a 16" KP. But I hear that they are non restricted when still able to fold as long as the fake suppressor is pinned on.

I had an 8" KP that was just over 26" with a fixed stock. (no folding) so it was NR too.

How is the fake can pinned on?

And how did you get your stock fixed? Weld?

Thanks in advance Hardian

The one with the fake suppressor is non-restricted because even when folded it is longer than 26".

The one with NO fake suppressor is restricted unless the folding stock is welded or pinned to prevent it from folding, or if a flash suppressor is welded or permanently attached in order to make it extend to 26".

The fake can is not pinned on, but rather the muzzle is threaded and the "suppressor" screws on. It was the first thing I ditched, made the rifle front heavy and of course had no functional purpose whatsoever. I replaced it with the flash hinder which is sold on the 8" model. Reduces the weight, looks much better too.
Mine measures 26-5/8" closed, and 35-1/8" open.

where did you buy that kit? That is the best looking 10/22 I have seen!

Thanks for the compliment; I suppose it doesn't look all that bad. I bought the rifle and kit both from Target Sports, brand new. Their service was excellent and I cannot recommend them enough. I did not like the package as it was, so I went about making a few changes. As I mentioned above I ditched the fake suppressor and installed the flash hinder which the 8” Krinker sports. Then I added some internal VQ parts; auto bolt release, hammer, extractor & bolt buffer. After hearing everyone rave about the Tac-Inc mags, I picked up four of them – direct from Tactical Innovations. I ordered an Aimpoint clone from Fabsports (again excellent service) to top it off and that is how it stands. It still needs a sling, and I’ll probably put a stubby vertical grip on it. The accuracy is good, but not great and the forearm is slightly loose – but other than that it’s a lot of fun. I didn’t keep track of what I spent, but I expect it to be close to $1100.
If I build another black .22, it will be based on Fabsports 556 shell.
