I recently bought a Vector in 9mm....because. Didn’t need another PCC; there was already four in the safe. I like the way the Kriss looks (ugly) and performs (it really is a nice shooting gun).

I’m not crazy about the slightly muzzle heavy nature of the gun, what with that big long barrel shroud; even mounting a Vector AMG UH1 holo sight too far forward made it feel a bit sloppy swinging the muzzle up.

I did what most Vector owners do...put a forward vertical grip on. It helped a lot, but it felt like it closed up my shooting position more than I wanted. It tended to make me pull my elbows in tight to my body to get a good stable hold & limited my ability to pivot horizontally as wel” as I’d like.

Last winter in Arizona, I spent the day at a range with a friend, shooting his AR. He’s a pretty competitive 3-gun shooter, always tweaking things Loki g for the “perfect” set-up. He’d mounted a new type of forward grip on one of his guns to test; he liked it a lot. It appealed to me mostly because it looked odd (yeah, I’m one of “those” guys...the odder the better).

It’s called a “Fist” grip...it’s almost teardrop shaped, intended to be mounted on the side of the forend of the gun. Gripping it fills your hand, and finger grooves index your hand at about 60 degrees instead of vertical, much more natural feeling than having your wrist cocked at an angle. I found it very positive and stable, much quicker to push the muzzle around since your pushing or pulling the rifles mass in a straight line in the centre of mass, not underneath the weight of the receiver. That tends to impart a bit of an angle in your sight picture, pushing the bottom of the receiver over, with the top of the gun falling away from the direction you’re turning. This is noticeable issue with a Kriss because of the height of the receiver.

The Fist pushes the gun more vertically. It’s very fast, moving the muzzle side to side with more authority than before. The improved angle let’s you keeps your sight picture better controlled. I think it gives as good a point of control or better than using a reverse “C” grip on the forend.

I started thinking about putting one on the Kriss, but of course try finding one in Canada. I eventually had to buy from a U.S. dealer. Shipping was only 5 days.

I’ve had it on the Vector for a week; three range trips, about 1000 rds. I like it, a lot. Guaranteed to attract attention; Everyone wants to see what the heck it is, and see how it feels. So far, not one negative comment

Worth taking a look if you 3-gun...it’s a great alternative to a regular vertical grip, improves your shooting some, and looks weird...win, win, win
