Does anyone have any idea how to disassemble the bolt on a Kropatschek??

Been googling for 20 min now .... no luck!

Check out Mauser 1871; they are very similar.

OR check out 1886 Lebel; French Gummint basically STOLE the entire Krop rifle, built the frame heavy like a Swiss Vetterli, and called it their own.

To get the bolt out, the rifle must be set for REPEAT fire (cutoff lever horizontal). Open the action, loosen the SCREW holding the BOLT LIMITING COLLAR. Raise the Collar a quarter-inch, pull the trigger, and the bolt will slide out the rear of the rifle.

Once you get the bolt out, decock it so the head can come off. Withdraw the head and push the firing-pin against a block of wood, then unscrew the NUT at the back end (holds the firing-pin). You have to use a thumb to hold the SAFETY forward while you are doing this. The guts of the bolt then come out from the front of the bolt-barrel.

Similar rifles are the Mauser '71/'84, '71, 1888 Kommissionsgewehr.

Hope this helps.

Have fun!
