Looking at trying one of there actions to be used primarily as a main purpose coyote rifle. I’m more so interested in the SAR 3 lug due to future prefit availability and bolt swaps if caliber change comes but not 100% opposed to the 2 lug. What’s everyoenes thoughts on there actions? Any feedback side by side compared to other top name actions (defiance, bighorn, stiller, Curtis)

I have shot custon rifles in competition for 15 years, on BAT, Kelbley, Stiller, Borden and other actions. I put together a PRS rifle on a KSR three lug and it is one of the smoothest cycling, best designed and executed actions I have come across. They should be more popular than they are. I hear good things about Ultimatum as well but have no personal experience with them.

Okay thank you everyone who’s commented. It was between this and ultimatum

Hands down the KS arms 3 lug
Ultimatum has had some challenges with the last 2 actions but do seem to provide good product support
A number KS arms makes a very good action and great barrels
Highly recommend

Ultimatum seems to take some interesting design liberties with their actions.

I don't know much about KS Arms.

That is very encouraging to hear! Makes me feel much more confident going with the ks to try!! I couldn’t decide between the 2 and 3 lug as I had pretty much ruled out the ultimatum. Maybe another time. Looks like I’ll go with the 3 lug

I have the 2 lug Wolverine LA from KSArms, truly smooth as butter, and the best barrel in over 50 years. KS Arms will be building another for me this year.

I have a 2 lug Wolverine SA that Hirsch Precision brought in for me.Action is very smooth , and ejection very positive.Placed in a MDT ESS chassis with a Krieger barrel chambered in .223....use for DCRA style Precision Rifle matches , and have competed in a few F/TR matches...has served me well. Seriously considering another build using their 3 lug SAR action.I think you'll be very happy with these actions.

There was a fellow who had a handle that broke off one of their actions and another where the timing was off in that when you opened the bolt, retracted the bolt all the way and then tried to move it forward it locked up. A slight rotation and it would function okay....as long as you didn't go all the way back. Sure hope the exchange rate doesn't worsen as the USA actions still seem to hold an edge. Makers like Bat, Borden and Defiance have 20 ish years of production experience which when the CAD was on par or a touch more, they were untouchable. Guessing if they move forward full time sometime in the future they should might be in the same class. Maybe they are there now, hard to saw with low volume producers. 30% premium on currency exchange is a hefty hit to the budget when looking South of the border.

Yeah I was reading that, I heard it was there gen 1 and they changed things around a bit. Anyways I’m going give it a try. I have terminus, defiance, stiller, kelbly, Curtis and zermatt now so it will be nice to see how these make out in comparison. I love there barrels

Well finished my KS arms build and can say that I am thoroughly impressed by the action. It is incredibly light bolt lift, and very very smooth. It will not bind no matter how I run it. The finish is superb, and the machining looks top notch!

I did two builds using a Wolverine (2 lug Short Action) / KSA designed stock made by Wildcat / KSA lightweight bottom metal using 3 rnd HS precision magazine / Timney trigger / KSA barrels chambered to 308 Win and 6.5 SLR. Of course they perform like all KSA builds … smooth, reliable, and accurate.

I run a Wolverine 2lug SA and the KS 3lug, I absolutely love the 3 lug action. Currently run it as my match rifle in 6dasher (KSarms HVT barrel), I can run it hard without it jamming or misfeeding. Super smooth and incredibly accurate.
