Kubelwagen Replicas

Very Cool! Intermeccanica in Vancouver builds Kubelwagen Replicas too, although now they pretty much only focus on Porsche 356 replicas.

If you're a car nut, and ever in Fort Meryers FL... reserve yourself a ticket at REVS institute and prepare to have your mind blown. ht tps://revsinstitute.org/
Last year they had a rare restored two engined (4wd!) Citreon 2CV Sahara on exhibit. h ttps://revsinstitute.org/the-collection/1961-citroen-2cv/

I've looked into the Kugel Kraft replicas.
One question I have is how does one import one ? Are they even import eligible ?

Of course, a check into gov't websites doesn't give a straight answer,or is open to interpretation.

Lack of emission controls may be a problem, unless they have a historical/classic exemption.

I see nothing on that site that would not allow a replica Kübelwagen from being brought to Canada from the US. Now if someone just had to have one of these replicas remove the body from the pan (State side) and send it across in two loads and reassemble here. Or just buy a body from there and source a donour car/pan up here. I don,t see an issue with importation but you may just come across some bureaucrat with nothing better to do then just jerk you around endlessly. Personally I have little appetite for these cars but they seem to fill a need or role within the reenactor scene.

The real deal lined up last month.

Why buy some half arsed replica when one just has to look in the right barns for the real thing, they are out there (and don,t bother asking me where these are).

where would you find a vw bettle to even use as a donor for the pan down here in Sothern Ontario their almost non existent or restored and the ones that aren't restored are pretty much junk. I think I seen replacement pans somewhere before but still these cars didn't seem to last vary long with road salt
