I just got off the phone with Savage Customer Service and was really impressed so I thought I'd share.
I have a MkII-FV (plastic stock). The stock is crap so I bought a laminate one and a thicker bottom metal. When I tried to put the new stock on, it turned out that my screws are too short. I started looking them up online and turns out they are a really uncommon size. They were used in the automotive industry a long time ago and in some guns. I found lots of stories of people having a really hard time finding them. Dip products sells them, but they don't ship to Canada. I considered counter sinking the stock, or re-tapping the receiver lugs to a 1/4"x32, then I called Savage. Two minutes later, they're sending me some screws - for free! They said, the screws are 5 cents each so they won't bother charging me for them.
I bought a Weatherby 270WIN a few weeks ago. Had this happened earlier, I might have gone for another Savage.
