I took my girlfriend up to shoot trap for the first time at Victoria Fish & Game the other week on their wednesday evening practice session. As a newbie shotgun shooter myself, I was not sure what to expect from the regulars and how welcoming they would be to a couple of rookies.
Well I must say I was impressed. The guys up there are a bunch of first class gentlemen.
We were made to feel welcome straight away, the guys were friendly and took the time to show us the ropes and fit us in for a round of trap. They let my girlfriend practice a bit on her own and spent the time to give her tips and make her comfortable with the gun and the proceedures. The range officers Dan and Chris were especially helpful.
I just wanted to post up for anyone else that might be thinking of trying out the shotgun sports at Victoria Fish and Game. You'll be in good hands and will have a great time, so get out there and give it a go.
I wish I lived closer so I could go on a regular basis. This was one of those times when I was proud to be part of the shooting fraternity and the good people that share our hobby.
