Has anyone read Kuhnhausen's - "The Colt .45 Automatic: A Shop Manual" ?

Will anyone recommend it?

Best book on the 1911 I have (out of 6 or so). Written from a gunsmith's perspective

Only question is that it may be a bit dated - lots more add-on stuff available now that wasn't back when it was published

Would be nice to see the book in an updated/reprint version. But it is pretty good, as is though.

I have both 1911 books by him, as well as the S&W, Colt (I and D frames), Ruger (Blackhawksetc) and Remington 870/1100 books ( the Mauser book as well, now that I think of it). Man knows an amazing amount about the guns mentioned. - dan

Great book, I have the 1911 book, a Remington 870 book and one other for Rugers. Lots of information and detail.

Jerry is sorta a god when it comes to 1911's the books are excellent..

Excellent books, I have 5 different ones, they have saved me a lot of money over going to the gunsmith for simpler repairs.
