Got this Kydex holster. Really hangs on to the gun, almost to the point of being sketchy to draw. How much retention is too much for these plastic fantastics? Should I be risking severing one of the boys with the inseam of my jeans when drawing the gun? Can I heat it up with a heat gun and get it to relax a bit? It honestly fits one of my other pistols better than the one it was made for. Never played with Kydex before, wanted to go leather and ordered one from a US company but they refunded my money without explanation.

Side quest question while I am here. Shadow2 OR slide, will it require minor fitting to my frame?

Is there no screw under where the trigger guard is to adjust?
I did one, used a heat gun on it, I think for a revolver and it did soften it and I changed the shape a bit.
use gloves, or a stick to hold it, hot, I think as soon as I had the shape I run cold water over it to set it.
too much heat could be bad.

I have not worked on a replacement S2 slide.

Which brand?

Some have a retention screw that can be adjusted. It also depends on how you draw the gun with most as it helps prevent someone else trying to take your gun. Best to look at the mnfr site to see any suggestions on how to draw as well as on the web.

I have a Bravo Concealment holster for my P320, you need to pull the pistol forward when you draw to break the grip on the trigger guard to withdraw the gun.

Also, since it's your first kydex holster, you need to be aware that they will cause wear to the guns finish, some more that others. Safariland is the only kydex to my knowledge that lines its holsters to try and prevent it.

Is there no adjustability of the retention? I have a few kydex holsters for a few different pistols and all but one have a screw & bushing to fine tune retention, if not then a heat gun might be your only option.

There is an adjustment screw, but even backed all the way off it is still too tight. That is also while putting forward pressure on the gun/holster when drawing properly. I think I will try to warm it up a bit with a heat gun and see if I can loosen up the trigger guard area a bit. You wouldn't think kydex would cause wear on the gun, it is a smooth material but I guess friction + time will wear anything. Thanks gents.
