Kydex holster wear and solutions?

I've been reading about holster wear on certain firearms.I just purchased a CZ 75 in the polycoat and read that Kydex holster wears the finish off quickly.Mind you I realize that anything holstered is going to wear at certain spots but I also read that spraying silicon inside the Kydex holster will lesson the wear.Anybody ever heard of this?
 
Most kydex holsters are silicone lined mine is at least
But it just scrapes off faster than the finish on your gun anyways so just get used to it cuz it's the nature of the kydex beast
 
A holstered firearm - especially one you might use for competition like IDPA or IPSC - is going to have wear. Accept it.

No argument to anything said previously, all agreement - but a different option - there are "race" holsters that you can use for IPSC and some other shooting sports (not IDPA) that only touch the muzzle and trigger guard of your gun, (some just the trigger guard) so the finish doesn't get touched. They're also faster for the draw.

Ie. We offer the CR Speed Model A and WSMII.
 
I would be careful lubing up a holster to minimize wear - we had two shooters DQ at our matches last year when their handgun fell out of their holster while they were on the run. A little wear on the slide finish is preferable to what happens when a gun falls from waist height onto gravel and spins for what seems like an eternity while the shooter stands over it in shock and disbelief.

It's for such reasons that our Black Badge instructor told us time and time again to put your hand on top of the pistol in the holster while moving if you think there is any chance it could fall out while loaded.

'Difficult to do while shooting a rifle or shotgun...

Really though... If you're worried about holster wear you should stick to bullseye shooting or... Put your pistol in a padded case and leave it there.
 
Definitely loving the CR Speed holster. Got one for my STI Trojan and one for my GP X-Calibur. The fact that it reduces the wear on my handgun finish is just a bonus :)

Is that why they shoot like this, if there's any chance it could fall out while loaded?
