A good while back a fellow Nuter posted a pic of his very impressive collection of oilers.

There are variations in the caps and sealing rings. Probably the only reason I would keep more than one is if the maker was some place distinctive like Parker Hale.

I bought a leather and oak shotgun case and among other goodies inside was a L.E. brass oiler. They're collectible but not crazy expensive from the one's I've seen - averaging around $30(?) They are highly functional though and keep mine in my range kit.
This thread inspired me to a google search and seems mine is a Mk IV made by J.J. Bent & Co. Its one of those things that around Remembrance Day you wonder what stories could be told if only it could talk. (or maybe be careful what you wish for)

Afghanistan Enfield oilers made at Kabul

Good Day All,
Compared to my previous deployments to Afghanistan, I was able to secure a number of original brass Enfield oilers that were made in-country,likely at the Kabul arsenal. I checked with one of our translators and was happy to find the writing was ownership markings meant "Afghanistan." Most of them had the Afghan coat-of-arms above the script but a few had just "Afghanistan" stamped. No other marks were noted on the bottom of the bottles. Initially, the customs inspectors thought they were rifle cartridges (which you can't take with you) but after I clarified it, I was able to take all of them with me.

Should they be marked in any special way? One of my Rosses came with one and there's nothing distinguishing about it...
