L1A1 Single Shot Target Rifle - Lithgow Prototype

Cold War battle rifles are an area I have always found interesting, but I don't have the intricate knowledge of them that many on this board do. I stumbled upon this video recently and thought you might like a look at this rare limited production target rifle from Australia.

I owned one for a while - at least until the registry decided that it was an NPR, incorrectly registered FAL variant...

So there was at least 1 in Khan-Eh-Duh, the guy I got it from said that it was a Lithgow sniping rifle, and he had traded for it in the US and imported it here.

So it's either in a museum, reference collection or melted by now.

There is no way of using the original gas piston, nor magazine.
