Labradar dump

It wasn’t long ago the LabRadar was the latest and greatest. No more sun shades and having to shut the range down to go set up …
I’m not selling mine. I can’t afford to play the latest and greatest any more. The progression of these things is all driven by convenience, not performance in most cases.

My LabRadar works great so I’m keeping it. Down the road if it failed me, and the Garmin proved solid, then I’d maybe change brands.

I'm in the same boat. Labradar works great for me. If it works don't fix it. Competition is always good, but I've made my bed and I'm comfortable in it.

What were you using? LabRadar is still very relevant compared to other options besides the garmin.

A cheap 2nd hand several times shot Caldwell. I just needed velocities. It was/is painful, but $1K and watching how users seemed to fight with Rimfire especially turned me off the Labradar. The Garmin unit seems to solve the performance and interface problems that Labradar didn’t seem to be fixing. The EE says I made a good call.

I still have an Oehler 35p and a V3 magnetospeed, I like the Garmin, but, I can wait. Labradar stunk from the beginning in my book, the time it took from announcment to actual delivery was haywire, and ten they seemed to have shipped an unfinished product, and the other issues discovered along the way, just kept me suspicious. And, there had to be others looking at it, bit surprised Garmin held out as long as they did, but, maybe they were waiting for a tech development for it.

The only thing that is annoying about my Labradar is tgat it will not work unless the batteries are in , regardless if I have the power pack attached or not.
Otherwise it works very well and I see no reason to sell it and buy a Garmin.
We also have shot marker targets , and it is nice to compare the velocities, which are extremely cl9se.

The Labradar that I use does not have this requirement. It runs with the external USB power pack connected and no internal batteries. Though it has a bug where, when you run it this way, then use the power button to power it off, the power button then won't power it back on. I have to disconnect the USB cable, reconnect the USB cable, and then press the power button to get it back on.

Odd I have never had batteries in mine from day 1 (have had it for 5 or 6 years). External pack only. No extra key presses or unplugging and plugging in for me. On and Off.
