I'm thinking of what I should ask for as my x-max gift this year and on my hunting lease there's a spot where It would be convenient to install a pretty tall temporary ladder stand. I think I would take it down after each season (if weather allows). What should I look for in a sturdy 150-300$ ladder stand that's safe and not wobbly?

Thanks, (I know close to nothing about ladder stands!) any information maybe usefull!!

Mine is a River's Edge 2 man ladder stand but there are several brands out there that are identical pretty much.
I've hunted from the single man ladder stand and the 2 man. I much prefer the 2 man for solo hunting and it's not too bad for 2 average build guys.
Mine came from Canadian Tire during one of those manager's clear outs after hunting season..... before Christmas.
there are usually sales on them around that time or in the January/February sales.

TSC in Ontario has a great sale on.....Altan stand for $90. MSRP $300. Online only.

Damn that seems like just what I'm looking for (high arm rests) and good price too! I'm looking for someone locally in QC to price match that or who does shipping! Thanks for sharing that.

Brand name not recalled but i bought 3 15 foot 2 person stands from Cables 3 years ago that i'm happy with . Comfortable , my pack and thermos sits beside me and i can sit all day . The front bar is padded and makes a good rifle rest . The foot rest is large enough to stand up to pee . I never take mine down but this year replaced the ratchet straps on all of them .

I ended up going with the locally available Rivers Edge relax Wide stand. It was on clearance at Canadiantire at 199$ and it had them drop 10$ since the stand I initially reserved to pick up had a damaged box.
I look forward to putting it together and learning something new this season!

I'll second these stands. I've got 3 and a buddy has one, very comfortable and have lasted a season in the bush with no signs of wear
