Lakefeild mark II HELP

I have inherited this great looking, old as god Lakefeild markII .22 rifle...awsome shape, bore is sweet, trigger good as to be expected, wood is pristine...sob wont fire. Stripped entire rifle, including taking bolt apart, soaking, oiling, rubbing, carresing...stupid thing wont fire. minor report on brass, leads me to think weak spring? but me being 6'1, 210, had a hell of a time suppressing it to put the bolt back together. Hate seeing a rifle in this condition, and i hate to admit defeat, help me please o gun gurus!
 
How far does the pin protrude from the bolt face?
You saying the trigger is "good" almost leads me to believe it is not cocking and engaging the trigger. The one I owned had the most horrendous trigger pull ever.

Oh, and what brand of ammo are you feeding it?
 
check the bottom of the casings...there should be a hit mark...if it is shallow, then I think the firing pin os worn back and does not protude enough to fire the charge. I have 2 older Mark IIs and neither have a firing problem, and I have put thousands thru them.

Western Gun Parts.
First, you might want to carefully file away a bit of the "heel" of the pin to allow more travel. Degrease the bolt while you're at it.
