Cooey was in Cobourg Ontario and bought out by Winchester in 1961.
In 1979 Winchester closed the plant.
Lakefield bought the machinery along with the rights to the Model 64. I gather they were in Lakefield Ontario.
In 95/96 Savage bought Lakefield.
Savage Arms (Canada) produces .22-calibre long rifles and sporting fire rifles, including those used for target shooting and biathlon events. Formerly the Canadian-owned Lakefield Arms, the company is now a subsidiary of the Massachusetts-based Savage Sports Corporation. According to company officials, Savage Arms exports 97 per cent of its rifles, mostly to the US.
In 1920 Savage bought out Stevens. They quite often bring their cheaper models out under the Stevens name.
