Hello,

I have a Lakefield Mark II (Made in Canada imported by Lakefield USA) 22 cal bolt action rifle that I bought new at CT years ago. I have installed a basic 3X9 Bushnell scope on it and the accuracy is not that bad, but the trigger is truly horrible:d

I know that the are basically pre-savage models. Can they be upgraded with aftermarket parts ? Is the barrel press fit ? Is it worth the expense ?

Just for the fun of it ...

Thanks

If you're curious about experimenting on one, there was a whack of Lakefield triggers in the EE not long ago. I haven't seen any aftermarket stuff for them. When they were produced they were affordable, robust, and utilitarian rifles, and aftermarket for rimfire was incredibly limited market. Savages own answer was to develop the accu-trigger, but they don't just slap onto the original MkII

Thanks for the info ! A trigger kit would be a nice upgrade...! Will check EE.
