Hey Guys,

Sorry if this is a repost. Just recently blew the dust off my old Lakefield Arms MK II. Bought this gun when I was 13 from a local hardware store (man that makes me feel old.)

In my wandering around the internet I've learned that Savage Arms bought Lakefield Arms when they went under, and it appears that they kept the MK II in the lineup.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the old Lakefield MK II and the new Savage MK II have interchangeable parts? I know that both rifles use the same magazine, and that pictures of them look remarkably the same. I'm most interested in knowing if stocks for the Savages have similar enough inletting to mount the Lakefield action in one.

I was curious of the same thing. The bolts both looked compatible but when I tried them the headspace was out about a quarter inch. Maybe someone has a few year old savage(non E receiver) that could try.

The stocks aren't interchangeable with any of the new ones, my wife has her dads Lakefield that her mother did a hell of a number on and we just keep it with the messed up stock.

Thanks neal. I didn't honestly think they would be after this many years, not really an iconic action.... Ill just have to see what I can do to the old girl. Didn't want to spend much cash anyways - more curious than anything.
