Maybe old news to many but I did not know that Savage bought Lakefield, I have a Lakefield .22 that is over 30 years old and I needed a magazine retaining spring. I was on the phone with Savage for about 5 minutes and the part is being shipped along with two magazines. I have dealt with Savage parts before and had a similar positive experience, Very painless, makes me want to like their rifles more.

Those who know me, know that I am a Savage fan. Not because they are "the best" guns, but rather, in my opinion, they are great VALUE... if you go with higher end of the Savage range, they are generally quite good quality product relative to the price point. Exceptions being some of the lower end Savage product.
