I've recently tripped across a lovely near-antique and couldn't resist buying.

It's a "Lakemoss" Mark III semi-auto .22LR. A fascinating piece of Canadian firearms history. I hope to get it in the next few weeks. Here's some photos (sent to me by the vendor):

The stock has been stripped and oiled... looks like a lovely pattern. I think I'll de-oil but leave a light colour and Tru-Oil, as many have done, rather than go back to the gun stock walnut stain. Bluing seems to be in good shape. Will update on progress when I receive and get down to work on it.

Here's the magazine, which I take to be compatible with the Savage Mk IIs?

Let me know if you have any experience with one of these, and of course if anyone's got a manual, please share!

This gun is the exact leftover parts issue I mentioned in my Email. Complete disassembly required. Still a bit of history. The mags are same as Savage mark II . I have 5- 10 shot mags so I can shoot a while without reloading them again. The stock is the Mossberg 152 stocks as they used them until the Winchester 64 metal parts were used up. Many were unmilled on the action exterior thus the unfinished Cooey look,
