I got an older lakefield MKII and after some testing to ensure everything worked correctly after cleaning I noticed that the safety was not functionning properly so I dissassembled the rifle and check the issue.
I noticed a gap approx. .050" between the safety blade that goes through the trigger and the bolt catch (if this is the name for this part) so if you press on the trigger it goes down enough to allow firing.
I was thinking of placing a shim on the blade with JB Weld or Epoxy or maybe bending up the piece.
Any Idea???? Anybody experience this before.
