Did Savage just rebrand Lakefield's models? Were the older guns just as accurate as Savage's? Or were there changes in design details aside from the cosmetics?

I think they just changed the name. I have an old bolt action Lakefield .22 LR and the savage magazine works perfectly in it. I'm considering selling this rifle.
Anybody got details on who designed the Lakefield models and if they're based on any other previous rifles? The bolt with the two dual extractors looks Anschutz-like
The new savages have a bit of a different receiver when they switched to the "E" receiver. Other then that the same. Also the cooey 64 is the same as the new savage 64.
So what in the original Lakefield design makes the rifle accurate? Rigid receiver, good barrels? Looking at the Anschutz 22 bolts, the Lakefield/Savage bolts look almost identical, so copying a winning design helps too!
