Just curious, How would go around touching up a laminate stock? recently acquired an m44. While stock is in decent shape, it has a shallow chip here n there.
Can you add coats as you would hardwood?

thanks.

When you say chip is it in wood is missing? Some smaller dings/dents can be removed by steaming . Smaller scratches can be hidden with colored markers depending if they follow the grain/lament direction. There are tinted wood puttys. Or you can go hole hog and sand and refinish ,may go a different color or go darker tint. Hard to tell you what to do with seeing .

Chip in the lacquer finish (peeling off) or chips in the laminated wood? There is wood filler available but you'll need to stain to match (or they have colours) but you'll most likely see where it was repaired.

Hard to say unless you post photos.

This is what I mean. A minor chip in the wood.
