"My latest addition is a K31 with a plywood shaft. these were produced in a small series by the Rüegg company for the shooters. The laminated wood was used because it no longer warps as was usual with beech wood. about 50 of this model were made and the price apparently was very high."

Note that many of these splices were due to shortages of long and wide enough walnut planks to make the one piece stocks. By late 1944 they switched to beech due to the shortages.
There were many repairs too.
