I've found one used at 99% for $900, seems to be a fair price for the condition.
It seems like a nice gun but a little stiff, needs to be pulled open and slammed shut just a little. I don't think it has been shot very much at all, like I said 99%.
The only reference I can find to the older ones on the web is someone saying the new ones are better than those from the 70's-80's.

Does anyone know if this may be a bad one?
Or anything at all about them for that matter.
Nice wood, and nice detail, but?

Yhanks,

G, the Lanber model 2004 is an early 1990's model, and is generally thought to an economical gun with reasonable quality - definitely better than the 80's models in fit and finish. It is a common complaint that the gun is stiff to open. Everyone says it will loosen up in time, but I have never seen anyone write that theirs has eased up any. Lanber usually equipped their guns with a little more LOP than Beretta or Browning, which is a good thing. I believe the gun was designed around 28 inch barrels for balance and handling.

At $900 the gun is at the high end of the market for a model 2004, but if it is like new, and it fits you and you like it, it may be worth the price. In the U.S. they seem to trade at about the $500 (US) mark. For a 99% gun I do not think the gun is horribly overpriced, but it is full value for a mint Lanber. Be aware that for $900 you can get a Browning Superposed, which is better quality, but you give up the choke tubes & steel shot capability.

If the gun fits you well, and you like its looks and handling, go for it. If you think you might have to add a pad, or have the stock shortened to fit you, then keep looking.

I have a Lanber O/U, and I have absolutely no complaints.

Shoulders like a dream, and kills everything I point it at...

Yes, the action is a touch stiff, but that should change with time and goo..

Thanks guys,
I'm now going to make an offer somewhat less than the asking price see if he bites.
Sounds like it is just a stiff gun eh.
