My dad's friend has recently inherited several guns from her own father's passing. Most of them are old (seemingly 1900s and earlier) shotguns with a few other rifles and pistols, all of which are going to auction and are leagues out of my price range (seems like the old guy was a collector). Side note - if anyone reading this likes old shotguns, PM me and I can give you a list, but all I really have is the manufacturer names right now.
The one that I might try to get my hands on is a Lanber 12GA O/U and I'm trying to find a fair price to offer her for it, but info on these seems pretty scarce. I sent the serial number to GMK in England, and they said all they can find is that it is pre-1995. No idea on the model number, but I might be going to see it soon.
Wood and metal are in good shape, it has full scrollwork on the receiver, and a vented rib with brass bead. I don't know if the chokes are removable or not.
Googling around a bit puts Lanbers in the $350-750 range based on what is for sale right now, but I don't know the models for comparison.
Does anyone know more about these, or can offer some insight into a price window? I'll try to get some pics but this is my first "real" post, so I haven't set up any image hosting capabilities yet.
