Lantac KAM (yet another standard)

Basically a variation of it, 60 deg vs 90, 1 lug vs 2 lugs. I smell a lawsuit coming.

Depends on how open Magpul made M-Lok. They opened up the standard because they know that whoever makes M-Lok stuff, Magpul will dominate the market. I don't mind Keymod and M-Lok ruling jointly - plenty of space for both. And no, I don't run either (I like both, though).

M-Lok is a fully patented/copyrighted design, because they want to keep the design specs "true" for multiple accessories (not having similar designs to pollute the market and causing issues). They have the design specs open source, so that any manufacture can use it (with a logo IIRC, hence why Geissele has the M-Lok logo on their MK-8 rail). This way they encourage guys to make stuff M-Lok (you can even buy the tee nuts from them, for accessories)

If Lantac used any portion of the M-Lok design on their mount style, they'll get pounded. Magpul is VERY protective of their designs and IP. Probably why they made their airsoft accessories, so that they already had the market cornered against cheap Chinese knockoffs.

I think both Keymod and M-Lok are great designs, I like the M-Lok from a technical standpoint, because you can use it on plastic furniture as well, which opens up more possibilities for use!

No companies are allowed to make M-Lok polymer handguards, only Magpul can. Read the license agreement.
