Please note that Lapua 6.5 Creedmore is not available at this time. We'll know when it is and will post.

Best regards,

Peter

Still think the 6.5x47L is a better option if you reload and use custom barrels. But, it's good to see the Creedmoor getting Lapua brass. Lots of factory guns now chambered in it.

Factory 6x47L brass would be nice. Even better would be factory Lapua Dasher brass with the Norma length neck. Lots of PRS shooters moving to the Dasher. Many have ditched the Norma brass because they made it so thick that you lose 100 fps. vs. Lapua 6mmBR brass with the heavy 6mm bullets.

So... and don't hate on me just yet, I'm just trying to learn something here.

I have read that the small primer on a larger cartridge such as the creedmoor can cause ignition issues in cold weather. Any truth to this?

I have been thinking of going with the CM for my rifle build but I want to be 100% certain there won't be cold weather issues since i'll likely use if for deer and coyotes in the winter.

Issues with small primers and cold can also have to do with weak firing pin strikes. Small primers, mostly CCI's BR4 and 450's, need a good strong hit, ideally dead center too.
Larger primers are more tolerant of less than ideal guns/conditions/weak firing pins.

I use 308 palma brass for FTR, no intention to change, but I also shoot in warm weather mostly.

I think one of the cool things about the 6.5 Creed now, is that it will be available in both large and small primers.

While I'm no fan of small primers for this round, others are, and at least have the option to experiment with both.

This also helps "legitimize" the round in the public eye, which is cool.
