My Hornady brass is starting to get a little long in the tooth and I figured it we time to upgrade to Lapua, my go to brand for hand loads. When I went to buy some, I couldn't find it anywhere. Does anyone know who carries it? Xreload carries Norma, but it's really pricey.

Thanks!

Norma brass has always been more expensive than Lapua. Sorry, Lapua , as mentioned, does not manufacture belted magnum cartridge cases.

Regards,

Peter

I use Nosler, it's weight sorted and prepped. The stuff I got weighed 218gr which is the same as Norma, so it's probably Norma. $100/50 and not hard to find.
PRVI by comparison weighed 268gr and would be good for a long time at more moderate loads.

Crap! I wonder why Lapua didn't make belted brass? You'd think it'd be a huge market with all the long range 300 WM guys.

I know Hornady isn't the best but I got a couple boxes as part of a trade and figured I may as well shoot through them.

You guys have opinions on Norma vs Nosler for quality and consistency?

Nosler brass is mostly made by Norma.

There used to be Lapua Headstamped .300 Win brass years ago. Don't know who actually made it though.

I haven't compared my Norma to my Nosler yet, but the Nosler is excellent brass, and a choice I've never regretted. It's nice starting out with weight sorted and prepped brass too. Check out the Norma 7 Rem Mag brass review on the precision rifle blog. I don't think you'll go wrong with either brand. There are lots and lots of threads out there on other sites comparing the two.

I use Norma brass in my Weatherby chamberings and it goes without saying it is great brass. I've used Nosler in my 257 Wea mag and all seems good. As far as Hornady brass, I've used quite a bit espically in my 25/06 and find it to be of good quality. I had to prep it, but once that is done I always got good brass life. I would not be afraid to buy some again.

There were batches of lapua 7mm rem which all accounts say we're Norma manufactures. That doesn't help you, but it is interesting.
I have owned and enjoyed Norma brass in 7mm rem mag and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as being every bit as good as lapua.
