Lapua is thrilled to congratulate Chris Simmons on winning the first-ever International Precision Rifle Federation Precision Rimfire World Championships. This highly anticipated match took place August 18 through September 3rd in Collazzone, Italy.

So, when is Lapua opening their Canadian test center so we can send our rifles in and get Lot tested ammo matched to our rifles like they do in the US?

A test center like the Lapua facilities at Mesa and Marengo is not likely to be seen any time soon. There was a short-lived Eley testing center in Okotoks but it couldn't be sustained.

Lapua's testing centers in the U.S. are backlogged and they provide a service to a much, much larger pool of shooters than there are in the Canadian market. Unlike in the Great White North, the outdoor shooting season south of the border is longer for many and never ending in some places. In addition there's not only a large and still growing rimfire PRS community that increasingly looks to testing center support, but also a thriving .22LR benchrest shooting discipline that is unparalleled in Canada.

Considering the volume of match ammo that is consumed in Canada, a test center that ought to have good quantities of at least six to eight lots of match ammo at a time, may not be viable. But perhaps there's room for a "part time" testing facility of some kind.

A test centre is a project that should be carefully looked at and we are doing homework. No promises but worth checking into.

Regards,

Peter

Am I the only one who thinks its odd we're in March, yet announcing a victory from last August/Sept? It feels like Im missing something?

Nope Im X2 on that one. Most serious rimfire aficionados watched that competition daily as it happend. Think we are just hearing it rebroadcast from DNN. Delayed News Network. I thought the sun rose quicker on the east coast??HAHA well I guess the BIG New shipment just arrived so a sales pitch is evident. Nice to see Center X with its spotty performance has only rose to the price of $199.00 a brick but much better than Exact at its far from stellar performance with multiple lots tested out of four different Anschutz rifles as well as a Stiller 2500 and two Vudoos. The Annies are two 54 actions and a 64 MPR as well as a 64 Silhouette. All of these guns easily make the 1/2" at 50. The 1913 super match almost made the 1/4" club with the first 25 rounds fired out of it after I purchased it from CGN member Jimmyjazz. For my money the Eley is much easier to source and just as good but in my opinion much better. Think most shooting medals in the olympics are won with Eley ammo. OOOOoooh just dumped gas on the fire hehe
