Lapua Ballistics

Peter, I installed it and have started to play with it. So far it seems to not give me any results past 978m - do you know if this is a built-in limitation of the freebie Lapua version, or am I doing something wrong?

lejarretnoir, I installed it on an XP notebook. I extracted the .zip file into a directory. In there there was a file named "setup.exe", which I ran, and which successfully installed the program. Dunno if this is of any help to you or not....?

Yep, did all that too. I'll try it another PC and see what happens. Could be a conflict with some of my programs on this machine.

Dan, Sight-In(Zero) on Target Set-Up page can't be further than Table Scale(Distance) on Trajectory Table Page.

Peter

I got in .,, still have no idea what to download or click on,, when I download it comes up a PDF,, not a running document,, am I missing something,, No computer guy here LOL

Peter I found the reason why my calcs were stopping at 978m. Under "Options", there is a "Maximum Projectile Drop Below Sea Level" parameter. which has a default value of -10m. That, combined with the default gun elevation of 0m, was causing the calc'n to stop.

Either setting the gun elevation to a higher value, or assigning a larger value to the parameter, allows the program to run longer (so far I've gone past 2000m with it).

Dan, there is a self-serving reason why we want you using Lapua Ballistics software and this is evidenced by your input.

Now we have to get a Kurzzeit chronograph to you.

Regards,

Peter

After you log in, does it take you to http://www.lapua.com/?id=1230

The link to download it is in the left column, titled "Lapua Ballistics - QTU Download Lapua Edition", which points to: http://www.lapua.com/index.php?id=1240

On that page, at the bottom, is a "Download Now" button, which points to http://www.lapua.com/index.php?id=1242 which takes you to an "agree/disagree" page for their disclaimer. Were you able to get this far?

"agree" points to http://www.lapua.com/index.php?id=1243 which has a link on it for the zipfile that you want, "qtulapua.zip", which is 6.1M in size (and I note that Lapua has not protected that link from directly downloading if you haven't logged in properly, so I will refrain from posting that link here).

I got this to work by unzipping this .zip file into a directory, then running the "setup.exe" file in it.

Dunno if this is any help or not...
