Lapua Scenar L

I've shot quite a few Scenar L's so far, 155's, 175's and a few 220's, mainly for F-class. They're manufactured really well and consistent and the supply is good from Hirsch precision.
I never shot 175smk or much when it comes to other brands really so I don't know how they compare.

With 155's I normally use N150. Last year I built a FTR rifle specially to shoot the 175L's fast, ended up using Varget and palma brass, N150 worked too(better elevation) but they weren't going as fast I needed them for what I was attempting. Still debating what I'll do for next year, been thinking of going to just 155 scenars with N150 for everything and just practicing a lot more, less headaches and that load shoots great in just about any rifle with no fussing.

I wish Lapua had made a 308 match bullet in the 185-200gr to compete with berger's high BC when they were designing those L bullets. For consistency/quality Lapua makes better bullets.

Too hot for most rifles or large primer brass...
You can use similar data as for the 175smk and such, 42-45gr or so, as usual anyone should carefully work up a load for their rifle.

Ummm.... seems the shooters at the 2015 US Nationals, Cdn Nationals, European nationals disagree with this comment.

Pretty sure this applies to just about every LR F class match held around the world. Berger is currently the dominant bullet and that is not just because of slippery bullet designs.

But it would be interesting to see if lapua will look at the target shooter as a viable market going into 2016????

There is no question Berger is winning just about everything out there, they went for that market and are doing well, but, pretty much every guy shooting them have it be FTR or TR say lot to lot they vary quite a bit and require working a new load/coal, more so than others. It's a topic that seems to come up at every match, so I take their word for it. Not a huge deal if you buy in 1000qty, sort, and keep it all separate which most of us do anyhow. I have no doubt that if Lapua put a little time to make a 185-200gr range 308 bullet with high bc, with their manufacturing quality, it would do fantastic.

I shoot both 175 scenar L and Sierra match king 175 tipped and non with 44grns varget with Lapua brass 210m primer and they're both inside an inch to inch and a half at 300 yards, pretty hard to say which is better but the smk's are cheaper ;)
