Quick question all from a newbie to reloading, I have equal amounts of lapua and Win. brass. I will be doing load develpoment this week using the Lapua brass. Is there a rule of thumb I could use for making the same load in Win. brass, or do I have to do a full load devlp. with that brass also??? Over time I intend on phasing out the Win. and replacing it with Laupa.

This going to be for hunting loads or long range precision?
If for hunting accuracy reloaders don't get too fussy , if for match shooting some folks weight sort their brass.Lapua being much more consistent.
Also, the life of the Lapua brass is better than most others.

I would weigh the brass on a digital scale and compare the difference in weight between the Winchester and Lapua. If the Lapua brass is heavier than the winchester brass, then it is an indication that the Lapua brass walls are thicker..............hence higher preasures.
I would personally reduce my loads (safety resaons) to minimum and work my way up. I've used minimum loads to monkey around with accuracy and found many of my firearms loved it.
