Just had a thought, it would sure look stupid if you pulled out your LAR-15 mag from a mag pouch and put it into the mag well of whatever you're shooting it through, backwards - especially since they're straight and not banana mags and it's not that easy to tell *ring ring ring ring ring ring ring...*

I know gold glitter pen looks kinda stupid too, but hey - it works.

I guess it also opens up the "mag pouch" debate - mags up, or mags down?

I guess you know what I think :)

Empty or half full mags in your pocket. Full mags in your mag pouch.

Good idea but if you put your mags always the same way in your pouches you shouldn't have any problem (brass to the grass, bullet to the belt).

BTW empty mags go on the deck :D

wolverine sells them, think they are $20 for a bag of 3 of them.... you have to trim 1/8th of an inch off of the follower in the magazine though to get 10 rounds in the magazine, so it does take a little trial and error.

if you just swap the floorplates you can only get 9 rounds in the magazine... just be really careful to not overcut the follower.

the rnager floorplates make the mags more compact and as I said it is more easily identifiable which way is the right way... fat to front ;)

You might try Dykem Brite Mark markers - more permanent, looks more... acceptable. Available at industrial supply shops. White or yellow are your go-to colours.

I don't mark the directionally, since they go in one way and I'm not looking on the way out - but it's a neat idea.

If you really are so "tactical" you should be able to change mags without having to look at them...

Well who says the the arrows are there for when you change mags? What about when you're putting your mags into your tac vest mag pouches, they've been in there for a while, or put there by your wife and you want to verify they're in the right way without taking them all out?

The pouches are designed for 30 round mags, how do you guys fit in your 10 rounders with mag pulls? block of wood?

Taped two magazines to each other. (baseplate to baseplate) Makes them about the length of a 30 rounder.
