The pictures on their website shows them as grey. Anyone know where you can buy these mags in black or dark grey for use with the Type 1 coupler?

I think the newest product out there that I have tried is the 10/30 LAR 15 mags from practicalperformance.ca . They are full size 10 rounders. However, the first ones issued will not seat a full mag with a closed bolt. So, new magpull followers fixed the problem but they need some corner filing to get passed the crimps. They finally work perfectly so hopefully subsequent batches have the problem fixed. I always hated dropping a mag in the dirt or mud on its feed lips.

I shot competitively using coupled LAR mags ... in 6 years of using them in all kinds of weather I never once had an issue with problems with the feed lips.

And I am somewhat notorious for dropping my mags in run and gun, haha ... so I don't see the problem.

Elastic bands and plastic for the bottom mag, perhaps. It might look funky, but you would guarantee clean lips, LOL.

Perhaps the new rumoured changes to the Firearms will spare us the indignity ... ;)

Did you see anyone Cerakote the LAR-15 mags?

Never noticed that, but then again I was usually kept pretty busy.

I would tend to stay away from anything that might make the mags difficult to insert into the mag wells by adding a little thickness to the mag, but what do I know. Perhaps Cerakote has properties that deal with this that I am not aware of.

As to some of the plastic mags out there, many of them fit very tightly in a mag well, not great for quick mag changes. They look great, but I dread the thought of a quick mag change with them in combination with taking on a moving target.

But as has been said , YMMV ...

These mags are great with ranger plates:

Would be nice if MagWedge sold LAR15 Mags and I would order the mags and wedge at the same time. Or am I wrong and I just am blind and can't see the LAR15 mag selection.

Cheers!!

Hi Scott.

I stay away from the LAR mag simply because the margins are too tight for me to make any significant money and the number of units that I need to order creates too large a risk for the amount of potential gain.

I fully appreciate the convenience of buying in one place and would like to offer it, but as long as I am buying from a middleman the margin just isn't there for me. Buying direct from a US supplier has its own issues and I am not prepared to take that on at the moment. Also the amount of capital that would require I would prefer to invest in production and development of MagWedge products.

If there is an interest in getting mags Cerakoted, I can do a couple as a test. Let me know what colour. Please no Prison Pink. That's just wrong. I'll do two in the most popular colour and give them a workout. Cheers from Cerakote B.C.
