I just purchased two LAR 15 mags from Del Selin in Vernon, and they are REALLY tight fitting into my Eagle Arms lower. They will go in with some coaxing, but it is not ideal.

btw, the lower is brand new and I have never inserted a mag into it before

has anyone else had this problem?

I have 7 of the 10rd pistol AR mags and they all drop free without a problem:D Do you have any noticable areas where it rubs on?

Edit to add that my lower is a Stag

I just got a new Eagle Arms complete lower and have no issues with all of my LAR-15 magazines. All drop free and insert smoothly.

I do noy have any other mags, so i cannot determine if other mags work.

I only bought the lower, so I did not get mags with the rifle.

Yes, there are a few noticable rub marks, they are on the front/muzzle end of the mag.

Mine did the same until I noticed the bolt wouldn't hold back reliably either. I measured and found mine were the mags with the short springs. The short spring was jammed between the side wall of the mag and the bottom plate causing it to bulge when I loaded the mags.

New springs from Questar fixed that right away.

A picture I took when I first got my magazines. See what you have and go from there.

thanks Scotty,

i just placed my lower and the two mags in a box and will mail them to Wolverine. Combined with another little problem, John wants to have a look at the gun.

thanks again for your pic. i will have a look at that when the gun is returned.

I ran into a guy at the range on the weekend with your same problem. His were all the type with the pull loop on the bottom. Some were so tight that without the loop getting them out would be almost impossible! He was shooting a new RRA.

We tried mine and they all popped out no problem. I don't have the pull loop so I'm thinking that there is a bad batch of mags going around. I think this is a separate problem from the short spring issue.

I have 10 of the things and all but one slide in nice with a slight push to go "click". They all release fine. Just the one I have to angle the rifle a bit to slam it home. It's just a pain because I haven't marked it yet (go do that right now while I think of it) so when I grab that particular one it get's to be a pain when not expecting it. Other than that, no problems with those mags what-so-ever.

And yet... the fellow you are talking about sent us the 5 mags (though when he sent them to us they did NOT have TacPulls on them) and all 5 insert and drop-free easily in several different rifles we tried them in. Not a single problem with any of them in any of the rifles we tried them in. We tried a Rock River Arms, LMT and DPMS. All no problem.

From the look of the mags it is obvious that they were binding somewhere... but it's starting to look like the magwell on his gun may have a burr on it or something else is causing them to be tight in his gun.

We asked him to return the lower to us so we can get to the bottom of it and find out where the problem is and how best to resolve it.

Now thats service!:D:D Glad that I bought mine from you too.

I've just gotten a few from Mark myself with no issues at all with the LMT.

Also tried on my Colt and the couple that I tried also drop free. Almost makes the Tacpull useless...but they still look good.

Problems solved. On close inspection the Eagle (ArmaLite) lower and the mags are fine. The lower had been asembled with an asortment of parts, some were out of spec and others assembled incorrectly.

My advice to all: If you have a problem talk to your supplier first!

Being in the computer field it's so interesting to hear about a user error in this field...
