LAR15 Mags + Magpul USGI Ranger Plate

I could never find very much information on this mix, except for one suppliers website that states they fit with modification on 10 round mags.

So me being me, I ordered more LAR mags and some ranger plates. Well what do you know... no modifications required. Pops right on, like a 30 GI Mag.

My apologizes if this was already a known thing... but like I said, couldn't find any information on it.

EDIT: 10 rounds fit tight, but fit. The "Modification" is probably to remove a bit of material to pop them in on a closed bolt.

Worked for me aswell. I think the mags are a tight fit for 10 rounds on a closed bolt with or without the ranger plates

I've seen those around, I'm a big fan of the GS design mag extension personally.

I have been meaning to do this for a long time myself. I load them to a max of 9 rounds stock and I have seen some load them to 8 if they haven't modified the follower and use a ranger plate. Anyone who stuffs in 10 without the mod has malfunctions and gets screwed in competition.

The follower legs need some sanding down once the Ranger Plates are added to relieve some loading pressure for that 10th round. IIRC I used some 220 grit and shaved them down @ 2 millimetres.

I did buy a Uplula loader though, fast and easy loading and unloading.
