Here's a post I had in the .44mag thread...though it deserved its own...

Gary

Finally got access to some Large Loop Rossi Levers. They should be arriving from a company in the States in 7 days. They are all blued (sorry stainless guys) and from what I'm told fit all Rossi Puma 1892 models. I'm not sure how difficult they are to install or if a Smith is needed or not, but I'll give it a go and post some flying instructions online when I figure it out...Has anyone ever swapped out their levers?? Let me know how difficult it is....

Anyways Ive only have 9, well 8 cause one is mine They will be $118 after all the shipping and importing B.S. from the States...

Here is a visual:

And you can order them here:

Now if I can just get some progress on these Ranch Hands!!!

Keep ya posted....

Cheers,

Gary

I just sold one of the Numrich ones for the 336, imo it's ugly, and it requires gunsmith fitting (no directions came with it, and you have to provide your own plunger, plunger spring, and cross pin). The Big Loop Levers are not importable the last time I checked, which was last year. :(

If you can figure out how to get the damned thing apart without the services of a gunsmith, you're a better man than I. I spent two hours last night fiddling with it according to the strip down instructions in the rather thin manual, and I could not get the lever out. All I managed to do was clean a little of the packing grease out of a few spots, but not the full tear-down and heavy cleaning I wanted to do.

I did manage to get the barrel band screw out and slide the forend up along the barrel to clean some of the grease out of the front of the reciever - and the threads peeled off the screw and the screw will not even line up with the hole in the barrel band any more. A little disappointed in that.

Sorry for the hijack, But how about the XS scout scope rails. Nobody seems to have them in Canada. You guy's sold my buddy that SBL and now I want one of the rails too. So it's sort of your fault:).

It's our fault!! Thats funny. Let me know what model marlin you have and I'll call on Monday and check availability.

Thanks,

Gary

I got an email from Henry Repeating Arms after informing them that NONE of the dealers I could find US or Cdn would send me or order one for me. They are going to send me one to see how it works out with duty and all. Let you know.
I told them it was piss poor customer service and they agreed. Whoa!

... please help me understand the value of the large loop. It seems cumbersome and awkward. Would it even fit in a scabbard?

I'm in the process of ordering a lever gun that comes stock with the large loop, and I have requested that they ship with the regular size.

comments appreciated.

I think you should get a gunsmith to do it. I tried on a winchester and it was madness.....So I went to plan b a'smith and he was a winchester man and it was a job. But...worth it for the Garry Cooper moment.

Cuz its KOOL dude. Why else would we bling a perfectly good rifle? Surprised you even had to ask that question. A little touch of the Duke or the Rifleman. Still keeping the original though.
