Im headed home to Ottawa after a semester at school, and Im eager to get some bush time hunting for rabbits/squirrels/grouse in LaRose forest.

The thing is though, I've never been there, and wont be able to scout it until at least the 16th of December. Can anyone give me a brief idea where to go in that area and what to look for?

Likewise, if there's anyone local who would be willing to put up with a pair of beginning - but interested, respectful and attentive hunters, eager to learn - please let me know. I'll gladly provide Tim Horton's and any expenses for your trouble!

Anyone who can give any tips for LaRose forest or small game hunting in that type of environment, it would be immensely appreciated

Cheers

They have a website (google) and can get a map of it.
There is not really any restrictions for hunting small game in there.
technically you cant carry a loaded gun on the concession roads,
but there are many side trails.
I see several people hunting when i go 4wheeling there.
Better yet, get a topo map (31 G/6), it will include the forest.
There are lots of grouse there, snow shoe (hares) would be in the lower
elevated swamp areas.
An abundance of black rats (squirels) in the the forest as well.
A few guys duck hunt there as well.
