Lars Andersen: A New Level of Archery

Pretty easy to see if you watch the videos, he's shooting at targets incredibly close, yippee. A blind person could shoot that accurately. As for his speed, again, yippee, there are a lot of fast archers out there, the difference is the distance they shoot at. As for me, I never said I could shoot faster than him with a bow, with a pistol most certainly and more accurately too, I'd happily go up against him on targets at any distance with one of my 9mm pistols. I also don't think it would be incredibly hard to repeat his performances either, if you watch his videos he doesn't really ever shoot the same way twice. He's just tossing arrows on the bow and launching them. He's a showman, and a poor one at that.
Far more impressed by this kid,
I watched it twice and didn't see him shooting with almost zero accuracy, perhaps you could highlight specific times for me. I would also love to see a video of yourself doing an impressive job of shooting a bow for us.

It is not impressive, it is incredibly stupid. It is not even lost info, it's stuff that's been around for years. Oh boy he can shoot stuff up close really fast, yeehaw. with almost zero accuracy. This has got to be one of the dumbest videos I've seen. A million takes to make the split arrow shot, yippee.
[emphasis mine]

Other issues aside, we must have watched a different video.

Excellent video. It is true that those skills have been lost with time. The Japanese were also excellent archers. I will have to start looking at drawings of early NA indians and see if they too shot from the right side of the bow......

The real archer community are laughing their asses off over this guy. He's a total fake. All he can do is shoot fast, but he can't hit anything farther away than 20'. The level of ignorance in the video is appalling. I'll leave it to a true expert to pick it to pieces:

interesting since this "expert" really only challenges the narration and not the actual shooting.

No, he challenges the shooting and does a pretty good job at it. He goes at great length to illustrate how close the majority of those shots are made from and the extensive camera work and editing that surely went into the project. I agree that the video can be visually appealing, the same way an action movie is, but just like an action movie, it's not grounded in practicality or realism.

Meh apples to oranges... That's like saying someone shooting a quarter at 100 yards with a scoped rifle is more impressive than someone shooting a beachball at 10 yards from the hip with a SA revolver. Completely different skills, you can't compare them just because they're both using guns
