You are missing my point clearly, i was specifically referring to a KAC RAS knock off melting to a barrel, as for melting index clips, it's not the point, cheap knock off products will break and slide of your rail when your AR is running at a normal level of shooting in a day on a range say PW3 at Borden. If you want to use this stuff on your AR have fun.. Mind you i wouldn't want anything melting on my hand, if that is not a safety concern then i don't know what is..

I fully agree with the RAS comment. The index clips are another issue. A melted clip is a personal issue, not a safety concern in my opinion. I'm sure the clips would be uncomfortable to hold long before they melted to your skin(you are wearing gloves right?). I personally don't run any but I don't see the harm in some knock off stuff being used, namely index clips, rail covers and plastic vertical grips.
