I met these guys at SHOT Show this year. They were demonstrating their laser ammo products. I was very impressed and purchased their "smokeless range" simulator along with their "open range" simulator. It all arrived this week and it is an incredible product.

Running off software on your PC hooked up via HDMI cable to a projector you end up with an HD 100" lifelike projected range on a screen or a basement wall. There are ten drills (speed, accuracy, precision) on static as well as moving targets plus more in the simulated outdoor open range. A small HD included camera marks your laser shots with fine precision on the REACTIVE targets (the targets do indeed react to your laser shots at the screen). You can use your own pistols or ARs (you drop in the laser cartridge to your action like a snap cap so you can train with your own gear).

It may sound at first like a video game but it's a serious training simulator. No spending money on ammo. Train in your home with your pistol or AR. You can also use the system with Airsoft gear too which will give you the blowback and cycling sensations for even more realism. Police forces throughout the U.S. are using these systems. Cost for all the bells and whistles was a reasonable $800 or so. Not cheap but not crazy considering what you get. The system and the company are the brainchild of some hardcore IDF veterans who I met at their booth at SHOT.

Give it a look at www.laser-ammo.com. I'm not getting any kickbacks for this post :) but I was mighty impressed and now that I'm using the system myself at home I could not be happier. I wanted to spread the word on CGN in the hopes that others might learn about this great product and benefit from this terrific technology.

There's not a lot of info in here about Laser Ammo's Smokeless Range so I thought I'd take a moment to add to this old thread. I recently installed Smokeless Range 2.0 in my basement and have been immensely impressed. It is very realistic, and with version 3 on the horizon, stands to only get even better. Purchasers of version 2 will get a free upgrade to version 3 so no need to wait if you're interested.

I also purchased some CoolFire recoil barrels as well. They replace barrels in real firearms so that using CO2 they recoil similarly to actually firing. This has made laser dry firing as realistic as possible!

I don't have the smokeless range (yet) but I bought the LaserPET as well as 3 targets with the controller. Haven't used it as much as I would like to but I'm looking forward to making it part of my routine. I can see it being invaluable to practice draw and shoot accurately with the LaserPET, as well as working on instinctive aiming with the target array. Very impressed with it so far.

I started, very briefly, with the LaserPET II. I liked it and picked up a second, as well as the iMTTS system, before deciding that I liked them all so much that I began looking more closely at the Smokeless Range - which I ended up jumping in with both feet! For me, these are expenses I can afford right now prior to retirement that I thought would provide many years of off-range training and, let's call it like it is, FUN!

BTW, I'd like to add a recommendation for the IR lasers more so than the red lasers. I very quickly found that I was paying more attention to where the red dot was landing and then chasing the target with subsequent shots. The invisible IR laser requires you to actually aim and is a much closer simulation to live fire. I still have some red lasers too, but that's for visitors just wanting to have some fun rather than actually trying to improve skills.

We have been selling their products for years and they work great. Not only do they save money on ammo, they greatly increase your chances of practicing since you can do it at home and it is actually fun.
