Laser engraveing a AR Lower. Idea’s?

Hello All!

I have a spare lower kicking around in the locker. It’s a Norc.
And was thinking about getting it engraved with a SECOND
Serial number and maybe a maple leaf or something on the mag well.
I have a engraver linded up and will be present when
It’s getting engraved.

What’s everyone’s thoughts? Do, don’t do? Different ideas ?
And legal issues I should be worried about?

Lots on here seam to get very upset at the so called bubba improvements, I would say it’s yours do what ever you want. And don’t let anyone tell you what to do with your own personal property.

I think people get upset when an older milsurp rifle gets bubba'd but a norc ar lower is open season lol
 
I’m really curious about the second serial number... is it because Norinco paints them on?

Yes...sort of....I don’t thinkit’s only painted but it’s VERY thin or very shallow. Would DEF come off if I sandblasted it and put on decent cerekote.
It’s only a NORC so I don’t really care about resale lol. I bought it for 50$ I think. But serial number and a engraved maple leaf
Would look decent. I’m def open to new ideas.
 
If it was mine, I’d do the serial number and a donkey (a la Colt’s prancing pony) to play off of its utilitarian nature. Norincos are bare-bones-get-it-done guns, so I think a donkey is fitting.

Other than the fact that you will need to put a trigger lock on the stripped lower AND transport it in a locked container that is not easily broken into AND you will need an att to take it to the engraver’s shop? Nope, no other legal issues to worry about ;)
