For whatever reason I have had the weird urge to pimp out my Tavor as of late. I figure it might be time to try out one of these laser/light combinations on the 10 oclock rail on the front end.

Problem is, I have never played with one before or even know anything about them.

So my questions are, are there any good ones at the 300$ to 400$ price range? My only requirements are that the light is reasonably bright and the laser is good for 50 meters. Oh and maybe one of those corded switched that mount to the side to.

Gonna start my research when I get home. But I figure the gunnutz here can offer the best advice. Thanks for any info or suggestions offered.

50 meters in daylight ( range) is a stretch for a red laser, green is the way to go and still might not be visible in bright conditions against certain targets.

As a dedicated stand alone weapon mounted light I recommend a Surefire P3XABK Fury Tactical Single Mode - 1000 Lumens. Its about $300 and provides a very large amount of illumination. You could then pair it with a stand alone laser.

If your looking for a good high end dual laser/ WPL, its going to be pricey and most are designed for pistols. The best out there is a Surefire X400. X400 offer's the choice of a red or green laser both with a 500 lumen light. All that said its outside the $300-400 budget, Red Laser model is about $600, Green Laser model is about $800.

Cheaper option is UTG, they have light laser combo's for around $70-160 that are designed for mounting on rifles/carbines. The lights are only around 150 lumen, so a fair bit less illumination and again you can get either red or green lasers (Green laser's being better but more expensive). They also offer stand alone lasers (both green and red) that you could pair with a higher end light.

Lights generally are not ITAR controlled. Aiming lasers (Visible and IR) either as an individual unit or paired with a weapon mounted light as a unitary system (X400, etc) are ITAR controlled as I understand it (keep in mind a simple 3x9 rifle scope is also ITAR controlled).
That said there is a decent number of dealers in Canada that have/have had aiming lasers (both Visible or IR) avaliable.
