Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew what the minimum power requirements are for a laser pointer to be visibe in daylight? I don't know anything about them, never owned one and may never buy one, but I've been looking and don't know what is needed to project a visible dot in daylight. Especially with regard to wavelength and wattage or nm's or mw or whatever they are rated as. I realize that you can only see the dot at a relatively short distance. I hear green may be more visible, and over 5mw(?) is prohibited. I did a search but it was a little too technical and over my head. So, if anybody has tried one of these things that works in light, and knows what the cryptic little numbers are on the machine, please let me know. Any information as how well they work would be interesting too.Thanks. Pete

Just a follw up on the laser thingy. I bought one from china off ebay. It's rated 532nM class111a. Green laser , target turret type windage and elev.It is easily visible in daylight to at least 75 yards, and visible with a scope past 100y. For fifty bucks shipped it look likes a fun toy. Tried to use it at the range and it doesn't seem to like the cold (-5)and wouldn't work. It worked right up til I put it on the rifle. And now works again at home! Love those chinese products! So I can't say how the rifle likes it. I'll try a new North American lithium battery and see if that makes a difference. Cheers

Had the same issue with what sounds to be exactly the same laser; seems to shut down at any temperature below 10 degrees C.

Makes a great cat toy though!
