Laser range finder?

Just to clarify the units that claim 1/2 yard accuracy are really the same as the Tru pulse accuracy they just measure with a different standard;)

How are the old Vectronix terrapin and PLRF15 compared to the newer ones (lower price models )out in the market?

I heard that they are amazing, but they are also very pricey for what they are.....

The Vectronix I have tried are to me the gold standard but big $$$$$ I have tried the PLRF15,VECTOR 21 Nite, Vector 23 and the Terrapin.

I am really happy with my Tru Pulse 200L +/- 3ft good enough for me I am just banging steel. The 200X is a good value as well with accuracy of +/- 1ft and 1950m ranging is pretty good price compared to the Vectronix which no longer does civilian sales.

I have always been impressed with my Bushnell Elite 1600, predecessor to the new Elite 1 mile, albeit without the new ballistic stuff

Father in law just picked up a Leica 1600-B, very impressive as well! And obviously more compact than the big Bushnell units. Vortex is due to release a new unit in 2016, based on the same size unit as their Ranger1000. No specs yet on distance etc

Do you think it's much better than the 1300? The housing is very different so I thought it might be whole differant set up.

I have a Vectronix plrf15c . There are Vectronix and then the others. No one has figured it out like vectronix. They really are in an entirely different league.

I'm not a fan of Bushnell scopes, having had several bad experiences with them, but bought the 1500 range finder and am very pleased with it. One test of it's accuracy is to obviously try it against a known distance.(Duh) THEN take a few steps back, or forward, and test again to see if it actually gives that increase/decrease in range. A LOT of cheap range finders will not pass this test.
