Lasers on 870

I've noticed a couple people using laser sights on their tacticool shotguns... and was wondering what your impressions on them are?

My 870 is primarily used for varmint repelling, and home security ... but I do love the add on toys. I've always thought the idea of a quick laser would be cool. Reminds me of the sharks from Austin Powers.

I'm not a fan of lasers on a shotgun. If it's for varmint/home defense, chances are it will be used at night where a flashlight would be much more useful. Light up the room or the backyard, and it's much easier to see your target than with a laser sight. If it's used during the day, the sights are easy enough to see. Instead of hanging everything off the shotgun, I'm a fan of only hanging off what you might actually use. But, whatever floats your boat....

Flashlights and the brighter the better!!!! Lasers are for sharks, man! cmon...

Just to stur the pot. A laser is great when you cannot shoulder a shotgun but are carrying under the arm and tucked up in the old armpit. Like when you are sneaking and peeking in a house... the shotgun can go around a corner with only exposing your head and one eye.. try it ... you will get what I mean. You cannot expect to shoulder a shotgun while conducting a house search. There is a deterrent factor also.... but I think being shot is always a nice surprise for a bad guy.

Haha. That is true!

I will admit, toys for the gun do "float my boat", but I also realize the impracticality of having a 48 pound gun. hahah.
