It all came down to the last day to get it done, many thanks to a few friends in getting this bull. I tried several times with my bow during November with no luck (missed the rut due to work commitments for all of Sept-Oct).
At about 1130 this Moose came out along a tree line, I couldn’t tell the ### at this point for the sun was in my eyes and the Moose was in the shadows of the tree line, finally I saw some antlers throu the bino’s. I knew the distance to be just over 300 yards, raised the Winchester 1885 270 WSM onto the shooting sticks, tried to slow the breaths, put the cross hairs just above on the boiler room and squeezed. Just after the shot throu the scope I saw the bull drop, I ejected the casing and dropped another round in, scoped the bull and saw no movement. So happy! The Hornady 145 grain ELD-X bullet entered and exited between the 2nd and 3rd ribs, a complete pass throu hitting no bone, appears to be very little meat damage.
